QuietPaste support

Get started

1. Open QuietPaste, follow the welcome screens and select Start Capturing.
2. Copy text, a link or an image in another app.
3. Open QuietPaste from its menu-bar icon, or set your own shortcut in Settings.
4. Find and select an item, then press Return. Switch to your destination app and paste with Command-V.

QuietPaste restores items to the clipboard. It does not automatically paste into another application.

If copied items do not appear

Check that capture is active in Settings and that the source app is not in Ignored Applications. Clear search and date, type or app filters. If macOS asks for clipboard access, allow it to enable capture. Some applications mark copied content as confidential or temporary; QuietPaste skips those items.

Copy a short sample in TextEdit to check capture. QuietPaste stores supported images up to 20 MB each. A file entry refers to the original file, so moving or deleting that file can make the entry unavailable.

Manage your history

Use Settings to pause capture, exclude apps or view the storage location. Delete individual history items or use Clear History to remove all stored clipboard entries. Clearing history cannot be undone within QuietPaste and does not delete original files referenced by history entries.

History is automatically trimmed as the app runs, using limits of 30 days, 1,000 items and 500 MB. Pause capture before copying passwords, private keys or recovery phrases; QuietPaste cannot reliably identify every secret.
